The responsibilities of the Jones County Sheriff's Department go beyond its core law enforcement and corrections functions. The Jones County Sheriff's Department strives to enhance and improve the lives of those it serves through a variety of programs and services.
All of our employees strive to create and preserve a feeling of safety and security within our communities. The Jones County Sheriff's Department establishes and maintains a true partnership with all our residents in order to provide the most responsive, highest quality law enforcement services possible. The Jones County Sheriff's Department makes every effort to initiate and maintain lasting partnerships with the community; treat residents with dignity, respect, fairness, and compassion; utilize and maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity and ethics as well as foster a productive working relationship with other law enforcement agencies.
This Jones County Sheriff's Department is responsible for various community projects, provision of victims' advocates, elementary, middle and high school presentations/programs, and participation in a myriad of community events. The Jones County Sheriff's Department interacts with businesses and neighborhood groups to support crime prevention programs, awareness of Sheriff's Department activities and programs, and coordinates the Seniors And Law Enforcement Together (SALT) Council.
