EMS Week 2020

Date Posted: 05/19/2020

The nation will celebrate EMS Week the week of May 17th-23rd. All across America, emergency medical services personnel will pause to reflect upon this year's theme: "Ready Today. Preparing For Tomorrow."

In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities.

The men and women who have chosen this profession are indeed a special breed. Extensive medical training and advanced medical technology coupled with a desire to save lives and change outcomes make them a formidable force on the front lines of medical emergencies.

We salute all who serve in EMS and pray for their safety as they respond in a COVID-19 environment. May God bless you and may He build a hedge of protection around you. From all of us at the Jones County Sheriff's Department to all of you serving in EMS, thank you for your incredible service and for your enduring friendship!
