Interesting Facts: JCSD Patrol Squads work 12 hour shifts each day. Day Shift runs from 4:30am to 4:30pm and Night Shift runs from 4:30pm to 4:30am.
Each of the four patrol squads have five deputies assigned with one of those being a K9 Deputy-Handler with a dual-purpose K9 - either Balder, Bolo, Leo, or Oblix.
A sixth patrol deputy works a peak 12 hour shift from 10am to 10pm on Monday through Friday.
Each Patrol Sergeant prepares a Patrol Shift Pass Along Report which is texted at 4:30am and 4:30pm daily to JCSD Command Staff and JCSD divisions recapping the significant incidents that deputies responded to during their 12 hour patrol shift.
The Patrol Division is supplemented by Part-Time and Reserve deputies who work side by side with their full-time JCSD counterparts.
"We have put together an incredible team of public servants who staff our Patrol Division under the leadership of Captain Scott Sims," notes Sheriff Joe Berlin. "These deputies put their lives and their families' futures on the line to serve the residents of and visitors to Jones County."
