Reported Missing Person JP Varnell LOCATED SAFE

UPDATE 1/22/2025 8:35am: Reported missing person JP Varnell has been LOCATED SAFE. He is no longer considered a missing person. 

The Jones County Sheriff's Department is seeking the whereabouts of reported missing person Johnny Phillip "JP" Varnell, age 51. JP Varnell is described as a white male, approximately 5' 11" in height, weighing approximately 190 lbs., with blonde hair, and blue eyes. JP Varnell was reported missing overnight and hasn't been seen or heard from in over 24 hours. He is believed to be driving a 2024 Ford F-150 pickup, white in color, with Jones County tag 363 JN2. There is no last known clothing description or direction of travel.
