JCSD REPORTS "CLICK IT OR TICKET' RESULTS

The Jones County Sheriff's Department conducted grant funded overtime traffic safety checkpoints and saturation patrol details during the national "Click It Or Ticket" blitz campaign that ran May 24 - June 6, 2021. The traffic citation and arrest results from these overtime details are as follows:
Seatbelt citations - 118
Uninsured Motorist - 92
No Driver License - 50
Suspended Driver License - 49
Child Restraint Seat Violation - 22
Reckless/Careless Driving - 8
Drug Arrests - 5
Fugitives Apprehended - 4
Felony Arrests - 3
DUI Arrests - 3
DUI - Drug Arrests - 1
Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin notes, "JCSD participated in the national "Click It Or Ticket" blitz campaign using grant-funded overtime details funded by the Mississippi Office of Highway Safety to help make our roadways safer for the traveling public,"
Sheriff Berlin adds, "During this blitz campaign, in addition to traffic citations, we made 4 DUI arrests, 5 drug arrests, apprehended 4 wanted fugitives, and made 3 felony arrests. We are proud of the efforts made by our deputies who worked these overtime grant-funded traffic safety details. We urge drivers to follow all traffic safety laws and to always drive defensively."
