JCSD Seeking Subject

The Jones County Sheriff's Department is seeking the subject and/or identity of a subject for questioning regarding a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle, a black 2005 GMC Yukon, was reported stolen on June 13, 2021 from Highway 11 in Moselle.
A complaint came in to JCSD this morning (Monday, June 14th) about someone trespassing on the owner's property in a black GMC Yukon. The vehicle left the scene and the complainant followed the vehicle onto Ovett-Moselle Road where the GMC Yukon came to a stop and the adult male driver wearing a red shirt and hat ran into the woods. The stolen GMC Yukon that the subject was driving was recovered at the scene.
The stolen vehicle was released back to the owner; however, JCSD does not know the individual's name who was in possession of the vehicle at the time.
The subject ran into the woods in the 5000 block of Ovett-Moselle Road very near the intersection of Highway 29.
Anyone who sees this subject in the area of Ovett-Moselle Road and Hwy. 29 should call 911 to report.
