Part-Time Law Enforcement Academy Starting in 2025
The Jones County Sheriff's Department - Jones County Law Enforcement Training Academy is accepting applications for the Part-Time Law Enforcement Officer certification class. The entry PT test is scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025, and the academy class is scheduled to begin at 6:00pm on Monday, March 3, 2025.
"The part-time academy class is designed for individuals wishing to become certified and serve as a Mississippi law enforcement officer," said Eddy Ingram, Jones County Law Enforcement Academy Director.
Ingram adds, "Classes are held at night from 6:00pm until 10:00pm and on several Saturdays over the course of eight months in order to accommodate cadets who are working daytime careers."
Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin notes, "We are pleased to host the Part-Time Law Enforcement Academy at our JCSD Training Center in Laurel. Academy Director Eddy Ingram has over 43 years of law enforcement experience and is recognized as one of the best in the business."
The curriculum is expansive and challenging, and the physical training is strenuous in order to prepare cadets to serve as certified law enforcement officers.
