National Nurses Week 2020
National Nurses Week is May 6-12, 2020, a week in which we honor and celebrate these talented medical professionals who tend to the sick and injured each and every day.
National Nurses Week is celebrated annually to raise awareness of the important role nurses play in society. May 12th is the birthday of Florence Nightingale. Florence Nightingale was a trailblazing figure in nursing who greatly affected 19th- and 20th-century policies around proper medical care. She was known for her night rounds to aid the wounded, establishing her image as the 'Lady with the Lamp.'
We at the Jones County Sheriff's Department thank you nurses for your tireless compassion, incredible skill, and passion to help others even at great risk to your own lives. Be safe, take care, and may God richly bless you!
